Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion is generally safe for most skin tones when performed by trained therapists. We tailor intensity to your skin type and perform a consultation to minimize risks, especially for sensitive or pigmented skin.

Many clients notice smoother skin after one session, but a course of 4–6 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart provides cumulative improvement in texture and tone. Maintenance sessions every 1–3 months help sustain results.

Most clients feel a mild scratching or vibrating sensation during the treatment and slight redness afterwards that fades within hours. There is minimal downtime—normal activities can usually be resumed the same day with sun protection.

Microdermabrasion helps with superficial acne scarring and uneven pigmentation by promoting cell turnover. Deeper scarring or stubborn pigmentation may require combined therapies—your therapist will recommend the best plan during consultation.

Aftercare includes gentle cleansing, hydration, and daily SPF 30+ to protect new skin. Avoid exfoliants, harsh actives, and direct sun exposure for several days. Use soothing serums and follow your therapist's product recommendations.

Contraindications include active infections, open wounds, severe rosacea flare-ups, recent chemical peels, and recent isotretinoin use. Inform us of medications, medical history, and skin conditions during your consultation for safe treatment.
